My Quarter Life Crisis

Dear Lindsey:

Thank you for your cooking. I love you. I liked to be with you. Thank you for helping me tie my shoe yesterday.

(What did you like best about preschool?)
I liked to do the computers and paint.

(What is your favorite thing about Lindsey?)
My favorite thing about Lindsey is hugging her.

Hannah: "Mom, I want to give Lindsey this potato because she likes to cook and she like potatoes. She can wash it, smell it, taste it, eat it, and dry it after it is wet. She can cook it but she does not have enough potatoes. She likes kids and she likes me. She does not want makeup Mom because she wants a potato! I love her."

I love you.

Love, Hannah

This was a letter that I received (along with a potato)  from a 4 year old that I taught.  I have been with Alta High Preschool since 2005 and have loved every minute of it.  This year was my last year because I am looking for a "grown up" job that I can get full time and benefits with, thus the reason for my quarter life crisis.  Here are a few things that I am going to miss about my job...
Doing random things like making log cabins out of easy cheese and pretzels
I love these girls!  They were so sweet, they would leave me  post-it notes on my desk everyday saying that I'm perfect...
...and draw pictures on the white board.
The girls ran out trying to beat each other to hug me and the door shut behind us and locked us all out.
I am going to miss my Preschoolers!

While I am more terrified than ever to find my spot in this world, I am excited for the new adventures that are to come...

Ultimate Dog Tease

So my brother called me up today laughing harder than ever.  The reason?  This video... he made me watch it while still on the phone so he could hear how funny I thought it was...

Human Hamster Ball

Last time Cole and I were in Costco, we weren't even in the store for more than 30 seconds when we saw a giant human hamster ball.  Immediately we grabbed one for each of us and continued on our way.

It wasn't until last week that we actually pulled  them out.  We had tried to a couple months earlier, we thew them in Kevins truck  and took them down to the closest gas station only to discover that we couldn't blow them up because the nozzle wouldn't fit.  We jumped in the bed of Kevs truck and headed home...or so we thought.  Kev had other ideas in mind.  He took us off roading.

After we had the beegeeezes scared right out of us he took us home.

(Pictures soon to come)

Anyways last week we finally pulled them out.  Spencer had an air compressor so we were set.  So Me Nicole, Spencer, Lauren and Jalise headed out.

We took them to the park by Oak Hollow and next thing ya know we were rolling all over the place.

It was the best $30 I ever spent until mine popped, partially.

Spence thought it would be fun to jump in...
...and then came Nicole

Surprisingly none of us got hurt (other than Spencer bouncing off the ground and landing on his neck).  After we had had our fun we packed up our Hamster Balls in Nicoles convertible and drove home.  And yes we did get a lot of weird stares.

Happy Birthday to ME!

This Monday was my birthday and a preschooler from last year surprised me by showing up at my work and bringing me this card that she made....

I then flipped the card over to find this written on the back...

Lindsey Conquers NYC

When I think of my trip to NYC I think of three things...

1. Food
All of our plans revolved around food.  I do have to say that I had the best food that I have ever had in my life while I was in New York.  They had everything from cupcakes, fortune cookies, sandwiches, and frozen hot chocolate all of which were as big as your face.  Come to think of it pretty much everything was as big as your face and tasted like it was made by the gods.
Dylans Candy Bar did a good job putting me in a sugar coma

Michael & Siri took us to Serendipity for some huge frozen hot chocolate

2. Walking
Nicole and I walked everywhere.  We only managed to get lost a couple of times.  The first was when we ended up wandering around for about an hour because we couldn't find Siris apartment. After walking for quite a while we ended up calling Siri who told us to immediately turn around and head in the opposite direction that we were going.  She called back 15 minutes later, and thanks to me, we ended up being in the exact same spot we were in when she first called, don't ask me how. We couldn't stop laughing.  As it turns out our direction would have been right had we been on the other side of the subway.   It was funny because Nicole and I were both accusing the other of leading us in the wrong direction when in reality we were both wrong.

The second was when we were trying to find the Seinfeld diner and accidentally got off in East Harlem and had scary men yelling at us. Our game plan was to stuff all our valuables in our bras and get the heck out of there. Luckily we finally made it to the Seinfeld diner....

When we weren't walking we were riding the subway.  I loved seeing all the talent (for the most part) perform.  It seemed as though everyone had thought of a different way to catch your attention.  I saw everything from a man playing what appeared to be a fishing pole in Chinatown to three homeboys doing all sorts of flips on the subway car, warranting dirty looks from sour faced women.  We did end up seeing some real shows...
Kaitlans Comedy Show

Memphis on Broadway

Ellens Singing Diner best chicken pot pie EVER!

3. Acting Stupid
This is one thing that Nicole and I are good at and we found lots of opportunities to do just that.

Nicole and I also took the train to Washington D.C.  and stayed in hostels for two days.  While I can't say that D.C. was one of my favorite places, they did have some pretty awesome museums to mess around in...

The Shawn Song and Cameroni.

Nicole and I didn't have any plans Friday night.  After realizing that we really don't have any friends, and the ones we do have don't answer our calls we decided to write a song to one of them because we are just that lame cool. This is what we came up with...

My only defense for that video is that it was late and we thought we were hilarious.   Let's just say we know how to entertain ourselves.   I am glad to say that we had a little bit more going on Saturday night.  Our friend Cameron was having another one of his concerts.  We always do our best to support him ever since he saved us from social suicide by being gracious enough to come play at our party in August after another artist bailed last minute.  I really cannot say enough good about Cam, he is such a sweetheart.
So when Cam asked us to invite as many people as we could to his show, we of course did.  Cam did amazing as usual.  We love Cam, he always makes a point to show us a little love during his shows usually with a wink and look or even getting right up to us and singing right at us during certain songs.   This time when he jumped off the stage he sang right to Nicole, and as for me he made sure to point to me when he sang "I hit ten for ten with you downtown."  This is particularly funny because earlier in the year I told him that I wanted him to make a shirt that said "I hit ten for ten with you downtown."  His response was "You would Lindsey."  Its not looking like he is ever going to let me live that one down.  Unfortunately, we didn't get Cams big bear hugs with a kiss on the head after the show, but we did get to chat with Cam's dad (Al) and step mom (Erika) for a bit. They filled us in on some exciting stuff that will be happening in the next couple of months.

Zombie

Thursday night I got to drive a spaceship...okay maybe it wasn't a spaceship but it sure looked like on from the inside. Maybe I need to rewind. My roomate Jalise has a brother that works up at the ski resorts up in Park City where he drives a Snow Cats for work. Don't feel stupid if you don't know what a Snow Cat is because I didn't know what one was either until about a week ago.  They are the giant machines that "groom" (Jalise always corrects me when I use the word shovel) the ski trails.

(Snow Cat)

We were invited to come up and ride in them, only problem was that the only time that we could go was in the middle of the night because that is when her brother grooms the trails.  Considering that this opportunity was too rare and exceptionally random to pass up, I was ok with going to work as a zombie the next day due to staying out until 3:30am.  So around 12am Jalise and I headed up to Park City.

Jalise calling AAA.

All I have to say is you know you are going to have a good time when you start off your night calling AAA.  I think that Jalise was just so excited when her brother pulled up in that massive machine that she left her keys in the ignition.  The best part was that she made sure to lock all the doors before doing so.  We made a quick call to AAA and then decided to go for a ride on the snow cats while we waited for the locksmith to come.

Me driving a Snow Cat

After driving around for awhile and hearing all about Snow Cats I got the chance to drive the Cat all by myself, a decision that was probably regretted by Jalises brother soon after I took control.  I decided that my turn was over around the time that I was told how much the Snow Cat cost.  Luckily I didn't wreck, break, or ruin anything.

After driving and taking lots of ridiculous pictures Jalise and I decided to head home.  I rolled into bed sometime after 3:30am or 4:00am.  I can't really remember I am pretty sure by then I was already asleep.  Surprisingly enough the next day at work wasn't too bad, other than being a living zombie.
